Getting Started

This guide will help you get started with using our documentation effectively.

Install as an App (PWA)

This site is a progressive web app. On a phone or tablet you can install it to the home screen and keep using recently opened pages (and the core manual text) when reception is poor.

Platform How to install
Android (Chrome) Open docs.lakebennettestate.com → browser menu → Install app / Add to Home screen
iPhone / iPad (Safari) Open the site in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen

After install, open LB Docs from the home screen like a normal app.

Offline Behaviour

Manual pages and the search index are prepared for offline use. Photos cache after you have viewed them once online. The interactive map, the big printable PDF, and manufacturer manuals still need a network connection.

After a Site Update

When documentation is redeployed, close and reopen the app (or refresh once) so the service worker can load the new build. Same idea as the flow-monitoring panel PWA.

The documentation is organized into several sections:

  1. Top Navigation: Use the navigation tabs at the top to switch between major sections
  2. Side Navigation: Use the sidebar to find specific pages within each section
  3. Search: Use the search bar at the top to find specific topics quickly

Using QR Codes

Mobile Access

Every page in our documentation includes a QR code that you can use to:

  1. Quickly access the page on your mobile device
  2. Share the page with others
  3. Open a page that the installed app can then keep available offline

Simply scan the QR code with your mobile device's camera to open the page.

Dark Mode

We support both light and dark modes:

  1. Click the theme toggle button in the top right corner
  2. Your preference will be saved for future visits
  3. The theme will automatically match your system preferences

Search Tips

Our search functionality supports:

  • Exact phrase matching using quotes: "exact phrase"
  • Keyword combinations
  • Automatic suggestions as you type
