3.1.4 Reticulation

Overview

This document provides a technical summary of the water reticulation system for the Lake Bennett Estate. It includes details on the primary and auxiliary water mains, key isolation valves and distribution points, and flush-out valves at the end of each main.

Primary Water Main

The primary water main is a 110 mm pipe that runs from the main water tanks situated on the hill.

  • Route: The main descends the hill and crosses under the road via an easement between units #40 and #39.
  • Distribution Box: It then feeds into a central in-ground distribution box.

Central Distribution Box

The central distribution box is a key node containing multiple isolation valves:

Valve Isolates
Units #40 to #58 Supply to these units
Western Side Isolation The six units on the western side of the lake
Northern Shore and Mid-Range Units Units #17 to #39, and northern shore units #1 to #16

Additional Isolation Points

A secondary isolation box is located near unit #17, allowing further isolation of units #1 to #16.

Western Easement Isolation Valve

In the infrastructure easement on the western side, there is an additional underground isolation valve that isolates the main just after it crosses the lake.

WWTP Control Room

Two in-ground boxes in the gravel beside the control-room container:

  • Green box — isolates potable water to the control room
  • Purple box — potable water into Absorption Area 1 (bottom of the hill)

End-of-Main Flush-Out Valves

Each potable water main terminates in a flush-out valve so the dead end of the line can be scoured (sediment, stagnant water, or after isolation and repair). These are separate from the bore flush valve at the green shed (see 3.1.1 Bore Pump).
