3.4.5 Diagnostics
Diagnostics is for “is ingest actually working?” Everyone signed in can use it. It does not change configuration.
Click Refresh to reload. Summary cards include session and reading counts (for example readings in the last 15 minutes).
Overview
Pass/fail checks for loader and database setup, plus hints when something is off.

Host-level diagnostic commands require authorised SSH access to the server and are not published in this manual. Use the panel Diagnostics screens first; escalate to technical staff if sessions never appear.
Devices
Each configured meter: unit ID, expected peer, enabled channel count, latest ingest session (status, peer, last poll time), latest reading, and the channel table.
Healthy vs Needs attention is derived from those checks (no session, stale poll, no enabled channels, and so on).

Sessions
Recent TCP connections the loader recorded.

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| connected | Socket accepted, not yet polling (or idle) |
| polling | Actively reading channels |
| error | Last poll or resolve failed; the error text explains |
| disconnected | Client closed or loader dropped the session |
If nothing ever appears here: the gateway is not reaching the server Modbus port (wrong destination, firewall, or the loader service is not running).
Readings
Latest stored samples per channel (from the database, not a live Modbus probe).

Common Interpretations
| Symptom | Likely Cause |
|---|---|
| No sessions | Gateway TCP Client target wrong; firewall; loader not listening |
| Session error “No matching device” | Peer IP / unit ID not matching an enabled device |
| Session error “No enabled channels” | Add or enable channels on Devices |
| TCP up, poll timeout | Meter M63 still ASCII; baud mismatch; wrong unit ID vs M46; gateway not in Modbus TCP mode |
| Sessions OK, Monitor empty | Wrong device/channel on Monitor; range with no data; channel disabled |
