3.2.9 Water Reservoir & Potential System Impact
This section details the Water Reservoir and its potential impact on the wastewater system.
Water Storage
- Total Storage: ~220,000 Litres (4 × 25,000 L poly, 2 × 10,000 L poly, 1 × 135,000 L steel tank)
Impact on Wastewater System
Power Outage Vulnerability
During extended power outages, continued water use could fill the wastewater system. Upon power restoration, simultaneous pump operation could increase inflow to the WWTP and RWS tanks.
Mitigation:
- Monitor RWS tank levels during and after power outages
- If RWS tanks approach capacity, engage McMinns Pumping Systems (0408 895 171) for licensed pump-out
- See 3.2.14 Recycled Water Storage contingency procedures
- See 3.2.15 Cyclone Emergency for extreme weather preparation
